AES-256 Encryption IP Core

FIPS-197 AES-256 with XTS, GCM, CBC and CTR mode wrappers.

Overview

A standards-compliant AES-256 engine with mode wrappers for the two workloads that matter most: AES-256-XTS for sector encryption of data at rest (SED / OPAL SSD), and AES-256-GCM for authenticated encryption of data in flight (MACsec / IPsec / TLS offload). This core is on our roadmap — talk to us about early access and your target throughput.

Parametric specification

Standards FIPS-197, NIST SP 800-38A/D/E, IEEE 1619
Key length 256-bit (XTS: 512-bit tweak key)
Modes XTS · GCM · CBC · CTR
Use data-at-rest (XTS), data-in-flight (GCM)
